The beautiful lady who was the reason for that spark, Nezrin, wished for a life partner who was progressive and would respect her wish to work after marriage as well. Hanies also was looking out for somebody who had a modern outlook. When two people have similar desires and outlook towards life, their paths had to cross. So did Hanies’ and Nezrin’s and the connecting dot was BharatMatrimony. Especially for Hanies, BharatMatrimony seemed a better option because his elder brother got married through the portal as well.

Since Hanies lives in Australia, their initial conversations were via phone. Then came that day when they decided to meet because Hanies had planned to come down to India. I ask him when he got to know that he wanted Nezrin to be his life partner, and he instantly spoke, “When I took my flight to India, I was quite sure that she is the one for me.” Nezrin and Hanies were quite calm while narrating their story because they have lived their journey. But being the person on the hearing end of it, I was very excited to know about the moment they met. I wanted to know if they were nervous, if time had paused, just like they show in movies. Nezrin answered all my questions and said, “The day we met, we were nervous of course, but we instantly felt very comfortable in each other’s company.” Hanies also had something similar to say, “She was very warm and welcoming. So I didn’t really feel awkward.”

Post the meeting, their wedding happened so quick that I had to ask her if she had synced in that she was getting married. “Our phone calls were so smooth but when we met only, it actually struck that we were going to get married.” Pre-marriage jitters? “Not really. In fact, both of us were looking forward to it.” Because they had only ten days in hand for marriage, it was stressful but those were the times, as she claims, were their best moments to know each other.

Almost two months into marriage, they are waiting to start their life together since Nezrin is still in India and her husband, in Australia. Living a long distance marriage makes me ask as to how they are coping with it, to which Hanies responded, “Nothing seems to be different except the time difference. In fact, I am happier that I have someone whom I can share everything with, without any filters which I wasn’t doing before marriage.”

“Though we stay far from each other, we talk a lot, watch the same movies together. We always ensure that we remain on the same page. And the best part about him is he makes sure that I never change at all. He loves me the way I am,” stated the pretty lady. It is only important that two people are in love and put in the effort to stay together however far they are. This is why Hanies leaves our chat with a message for his lovely wife, “Thank you for being what you are and accepting me the way I am.”
